HorsyFLOW VET 10 is a modern mesh nebulizer developed specifically for the needs of horses, where respiratory health is crucial for well-being, performance, and recovery. The nebulizer has 3 units integrated into the mask, which is fixed onto the horse’s head using the included strap.
Using the technology of the most powerful nebulizers, the device transforms the inhalation solution into extremely fine aerosol particles (<–5 μm), small enough to penetrate deep into the respiratory tract – all the way to the lungs (bronchioles and alveoli).
Thanks to a special fastening technique, the inhaler remains securely in place even when the horse moves its head.
Why should horses use nebulization?
- Due to their physiology, horses are often prone to respiratory inflammation.
- They are exposed daily to dust, mold, and other environmental irritants.
- Their respiratory tract is one of the most vulnerable entry points for various stressors.
Let’s take a closer look at why this is the case:
- The lungs and respiratory tract in horses are highly stressed and sensitive. This is also demonstrated by the fact that a horse at rest inhales 60–100 liters of air per minute, while a human inhales 6–10 liters. During intense exertion, a horse can inhale up to 1,500–2,000 liters of air per minute.
- A horse can only breathe through its nose and anatomically cannot breathe through its mouth. Even a minor nasal obstruction is a serious issue. Mucus, swelling, or blood can significantly restrict airflow.
Since a horse’s performance is directly linked to the health of its respiratory system, še posebej priporoča športnim konjem. Tudi regeneracija po treningih je hitrejša.
The most common respiratory inflammations in horses:
- allergies and sensitivity to dust,
- mucus buildup in the respiratory tract,
- difficulty breathing,
- RAO (equine asthma / “heaves”),
- IAD (lower airway inflammation),
- fatigue after training or competition,
- coughing.
In which cases is inhalation recommended for horses?
Inhalation is one of the key supportive therapies for horses with respiratory issues, as it helps in a natural, fast, and painless way to:
- moisturize the respiratory tract,
- thin and clear mucus,
- ease breathing,
- moisturize the respiratory tract,
- reduce inflammation,
- improve environmental tolerance,
- support respiratory recovery,
- remove dust and irritants (dust from hay, straw, poor stable ventilation),
- support faster recovery.
