High Performance
A quiet and extremely convenient inhaler that, in terms of performance and technical features, can compete with larger inhalers. The ME 150 inhaler produces exceptionally fine aerosol particles (on average 1.9 μm), enabling the aerosol to reach the lower respiratory tract (alveoli). This is a significant advantage, as it is used not only for colds and viral infections but also for the treatment of more severe chronic respiratory inflammations (pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.).
Battery Charging
A major advantage of this inhaler is that it operates on a rechargeable lithium battery. It comes with a USB Type-C cable, allowing you to charge the inhaler in the same way as you charge a mobile phone—by connecting the cable to an adapter, computer, power bank, etc.
If the nebulizer is completely discharged, it takes 2 to 2.5 hours to fully recharge. However, just 30 minutes of charging is enough for the nebulizer to be ready for use. With a full battery, the nebulizer can operate continuously for 70 minutes, which is sufficient for approximately 7 therapy sessions.
Method of use
The nebulizer is extremely lightweight and is worn with the help of an elastic strap around the head. During use, normal breathing and free movement are possible. This is a particularly great advantage for children, as they can look at a book, draw, or color while using it.
If hands-free use and operation on a lithium battery are not essential features for you, but you still want a portable nebulizer, consider the ME140 model. In terms of performance and technical specifications, they are identical, and both are extremely quiet; the only difference is that the ME140 is slightly larger.
What are the main advantages of the ME150 nebulizer:
- hands-free nebulization (without using hands)
- ideal for use at home and on the go
- extremely lightweight, compact, and convenient
- rechargeable lithium battery via cable (with a full charge, operates up to 1.5 hours)
- It has a cleaning program
- suitable for the whole family, for both children and adults.
- no tube required for use
- quick and easy cleaning
- can be used during sleep or activity
- high aerosol output: ≥0.20 ml/min
- aerosol particle size: 1.9 μm
The set includes all necessary accessories to start using the nebulizer immediately (except for the inhalation solutions):
- main nebulizer unit with aerosol head
- 2 masks (for children and adults)
- mouthpiece
- USB charging cable (Type-C)
Nebulizers differ in the size of aerosol particles they produce (the smaller, the better) and their aerosol output (the more aerosol they generate per minute, the better). If a nebulizer produces sufficiently small aerosol particles <, they can reach the lower respiratory tract (alveoli) and not just the upper airways (throat, sinuses, etc.). A nebulizer with high aerosol output can produce a large amount of aerosol in a very short time.
When purchasing a nebulizer, always pay attention to MMAD and FPF:
MMAD is important because it indicates
the size of the aerosol particles and where they will travel in the lungs.
-
>10μm – mostly deposited in the nose, mouth, and throat
-
5–10 μm – upper airways, throat, trachea
-
1–5 μm – lower airways (bronchi, bronchioles) – most effective
<FPF is important because it determines the proportion of fine particles
that are small enough to reach the lower airways.
How to use the ME150 nebulizer for aerosol therapy?
Check if the nebulizer is charged (green light on) or connect it to a power source using the cable. Then open the top part of the nebulizer, where the medication cup is located, and add the inhalation solution (up to 6 ml). Close the medication cup securely and attach the supplied mask or mouthpiece to the front of the nebulizer. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the nebulizer, and the green light will illuminate. Begin inhalation when you see the aerosol.
When the medication is used up, the nebulizer will stop producing aerosol and turn off (yellow light flashing). This indicates that the inhalation solution needs to be refilled. The nebulizer will also turn off when the battery is low (yellow light steady on) — recharge the nebulizer using the supplied cable (blue light flashes while charging, and stays solid when fully charged).
You cannot perform nebulization without inhalation solution. For nebulization, we recommend:
- Api-inhal mixtures, for the strongest effect and faster recovery of the respiratory mucosa. These herbal mixtures do not need to be mixed with saline (used on their own – must be stored in the refrigerator!).
- Colloidal silver, in cases of bacterial or viral respiratory infections. Use it on its own and never mix it with Api-inhal or saline, as it oxidizes upon contact with salt and loses its effectiveness.
- Saline solution
- You can also use medications prescribed by your doctor that are suitable for use with nebulizers.
How often should adults perform nebulization?
Preventive: once a day for 10 minutes
Therapeutic: 2–3 times a day for 10–15 minutes
How often should children and infants perform nebulization?
For children, start with 5 minutes of nebulization therapy and gradually increase to 10 minutes, then up to 15 minutes. For infants, start with 2 minutes and gradually increase to 5 minutes. Use a baby mask or mouthpiece, depending on the child’s age and comfort. For children, which is smaller and fits the face better.
The nebulizer head and accessories (mouthpiece or mask) must be cleaned and disinfected after each use to prevent the growth of microorganisms that increase the risk of infection. Use 70% alcohol.
The nebulizer has a special cleaning program. You only need distilled water, which you pour into the medication cup. Activate the cleaning program by holding the power button for 5 seconds, or until the green light starts flashing. Turn off the cleaning program after 3 minutes by pressing the power button.
If the metal mesh is heavily clogged and cannot be cleaned using the above method, you can use Medikoel’s
cleaning set for ME 128 mesh nebulizers (see instructions for use). Afterward, activate the cleaning program as described above.
