Certification for the use of Medikoel apitherapeutic products

Apitherapy is no longer just about using bee products (honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, wax, bee venom) to promote health and well-being. Another branch of apitherapy is also increasingly being developed, which uses the natural nature and action of the bee colony or the bees themselves for human well-being(inhalation of hive air, listening to bees buzzing, bee stings). Many individuals are realising the beneficial effects of this form of apitherapy, as confirmed by a growing number of foreign research studies. Apitherapy is thus gaining new dimensions and possibilities for people, as shown by the increase in apitherapy chambers in Europe and elsewhere.

But how to carry out hive air inhalation therapy properly? How long should it last according to the needs or health condition of the participant? Is it important to follow the protocol regarding the sequence of use of the different apitherapy devices and why? Is the same protocol implemented for children and adults? All this and more is extremely important information and it is by certifying all interested parties that we want to contribute to the dissemination of this knowledge.

Why we put a strong emphasis on practical knowledge

Beekeepers and apitherapists who want to keep up with innovations in apitherapy and offer added value beyond bee products, most of them already have hive inhalation devices. As this is a complete innovation, we see a major shortage, especially in practical knowledge, i.e. the implementation and use of the devices. Medikoel is very aware of this, which is why, in addition to our apitherapeutic devices, we also offer professional training in their use and also issue a certificate to the participants of the certification.

Apitherapeutic knowledge on inhaling hive air or e.g. inhaling propolis vapour is not yet widespread and freely available, as it is a novelty that needs a lot of practice and users to become widespread. We also consider such training important because it involves interaction with the human body, which makes professionalism, comprehensive knowledge and appropriate handling of different scenarios all the more important.

In the past, 43 candidates from different backgrounds, including beekeepers, therapists and health professionals, have attended our training. Participants come not only from Slovenia, but also from other countries (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia), which shows a wider interest in apitherapy and its benefits.

Who is the training for?

The apitherapy training is primarily aimed at beekeepers and apitherapists who:

  • are interested in a natural approach to bee-related well-being,
  • are interested in innovations in apitherapy in the field of the benefits of the bee colony for humans (and not only bee products),
  • have or are planning an apitherapy chamber,
  • have or are planning to purchase Medikoel apitherapy products and want to gain in-depth knowledge on how to use them, as well as practical knowledge and skills,
  • wish to become a certified apitherapist for the use of Medikoel apitherapy devices (inhalation of hive air, inhalation of propolis vapour, protocol for using the devices, etc.)
  • want to offer their customers the possibility of apitherapy with innovative apitherapeutic methods, in addition to traditional beekeeping products and services,
  • they want to appear sovereignly and professionally in front of the client and professionally conduct the apitherapy service with Medikoel devices according to the apitherapy protocol,
  • They want to acquire not only theoretical but also practical knowledge for the use of Medikoel’s apitherapy devices, handed over by the experienced apitherapist Matjaž Pogačnik, who also designed all the devices,
  • want to learn the exact protocol for the most effective and holistic care and strengthening of all airways with apitherapy (procedure, duration of therapy, sequence of methods, with which devices and attachments, for which purpose which method),
  • want to contribute to improving people’s health and well-being in a natural way.

Training and certification process

The training for the certificate includes a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes a general understanding of apitherapy, what inhalation is, welcoming the user into the apitherapy apiary and a description of the different devices:

API AEROSOL 1 PLUS
API AEROSOL 2
PROPO STEAM
ULTRASONIC INHALER ME 120
CLEANING SET ME 127

The practical part includes handling and testing these devices, cleaning and storing the equipment, and managing anaphylactic shock. The training takes place on Medikoel premises over two days, 2 times for 8 hours each. On the first day, the theory is covered, and on the second day, the practical part of the training takes place.

Benefits of apitherapy education

  • working in small groups
  • face-to-face, in-person contact
  • learn directly from experienced apitherapist Matjaž Pogačnik, who also designed all the devices
  • multilingual (by arrangement)
  • certificate of successful completion of certification
  • a strong emphasis on practical work
  • obtaining a questionnaire to be used later in your therapies (to be filled in by the user before starting the apitherapy)
  • training in the use of 7 devices/products (description and practical test of the device)
  • competence in the safe and effective use of Medikoel equipment
  • steps or. protocol for admitting the user to the apiary
  • steps or. a protocol for delivering therapies according to the user’s needs
  • an opportunity to learn more about and practice natural bee healing methods
  • Increased credibility and user trust in your services
  • spreading awareness of the benefits of apitherapy

Benefits of apitherapy knowledge and certification

The acquired knowledge enables certified persons to provide apitherapy services and use Medikoel’s apitherapy devices. This may include working in apitherapy centres, providing therapies to improve the health and well-being of users, and educating others about the benefits of apitherapy. More and more people are realising the importance of holistic and professional treatment for the condition they want to improve, and are looking for professionals with in-depth knowledge. Many people already have an aerosol inhaler and/or a Proposteam vaporizer at home, but do not know the protocol that will help them to achieve the quickest effect. If you are a certified apitherapist using Medikoel products, you have this boutique knowledge and know the sequence of the therapies and how each method works on the body in its own way, e.g. nourishing the mucous membranes and affecting the respiratory tract.

Entry requirements

There are no specific requirements for applicants wishing to apply . However, it is recommended that the trainee is an apitherapist, beekeeper or otherwise involved with bees, as this implies a basic knowledge of beekeeping and bee products. It is also important that applicants do not have any allergies to bee products or other health problems that could interfere with their work.

We do not have any predetermined or publicly announced certification dates, so we encourage anyone interested to contact us by phone +386 (0) 4 537 85 10 or email [email protected].

If we want our respiratory immunity to remain stable, it’s best to start with the airways and mucous membranes. This doesn’t necessarily mean another box of pills from the pharmacy.

Today, there is a growing demand for natural approaches to improve well-being, which is why apitherapy chambers are becoming more and more popular. They allow a unique human contact with
