Apitherapy – inhalation of beehive aerosol
The device enables controlled airflow and inhalation of beehive air through a built-in fan that directs the air from the hive through a tube system to a mask or mouthpiece. Api Aerosol 2 is the most advanced device for beehive aerosol therapy. Its powerful fan automatically draws beehive air through the tube to the user, so no effort is required. The aerosol flow rate is significantly higher than with Api Aerosol 1 Plus, making it more comfortable and easier to use.
API AEROSOL II is intended for use in beehive-air apitherapy and enables simple, controlled operation of the system. This innovative apitherapy device plays a central role in our apitherapy manual.
Why is beehive air so highly valued?
A beehive is a unique environment in which the activity of the bees creates a distinctive beehive-air atmosphere. It consists of various naturally occurring volatile substances originating from the hive, the bees, and bee products.
The composition of beehive air has been the subject of numerous studies examining its properties and constituents. Read more about the composition of hive air and the effect of inhaling it on humans here.
What do we need to inhale beehive air?
We need an AŽ hive and the API AEROSOL II device, which includes a special hive adapter. The supplied tube is attached to the adapter, followed by a mask or mouthpiece. The user then breathes normally. Thanks to the special built-in filter, it is not possible to inhale a bee or any other particles together with the beehive air.
Practical demonstration to help with installation
VIDEO 1: detailed overview of the Api Aerosol 2 apitherapy device and demonstration of the pre-treatment.
VIDEO 2: clearly demonstrates the complete step-by-step process of installing the API AEROSOL II device on an AŽ hive, up to the point when everything is ready for beehive-air inhalation.
How does API AEROSOL II, the aerosol therapy machine for the hive, work?
A 230 V power adapter is included. The device can also be connected to a 12 V battery or a dedicated power bank unit.
The API AEROSOL II is equipped with a pump-push element, which has 5 stages and allows to regulate the flow of aerosol coming through the hive hose to the user. During times of abundant brood and consequently higher hive air (May, June, July), the second and third stages are used. During the low grazing season, the fourth and fifth levels are used. Each stage is calibrated to a specific aerosol flow rate:
fifth stage 12 l/min
fourth stage 8 l/min
third stage 6 l/min
second stage 4 l/min
first stage 3 l/min.
