We’ve compiled the most frequently asked questions about natural, herbal inhalation solutions with Api-inhal to make them even easier to use.
Does Api-inhal need to be diluted or is it used on its own?
It has the greatest effect when used alone. The great advantage of this herbal Api-inhal mixture is that it is more concentrated than saline and therefore more effective, resulting in a faster recovery of the respiratory mucosa. As soon as Api-inhal is mixed with e.g. saline, it is deprived of this strong effectiveness and a milder form of inhalation mixture is obtained. It is not wrong to dilute, but for the full effect practice self-administration.
How much Api-inhal is dosed for one inhalation?
For a full and complete inhalation therapy, dose 5 – 10 ml of Api-inhalation mix, for children 4-8 ml. For infants, 2 – 4 ml is sufficient. These are the quantities for one inhalation, but several repeated inhalations per day (2-3) are possible, especially if inhaled curatively.

How long should one inhalation last?
Adults inhaled in a piece for 10-15 min, children for 5-10 min. Depending on the inhaler’s atomizing power, which tells you how quickly the inhalation fluid is atomised or used. E.g. the ME120 inhaler has a nebulization rate of 2 ml/min, the portable ME140 has a nebulization rate of 0.25 ml/min and the piston inhalers ME110 and ME100 have a nebulization rate of 0.50 ml/min. This means that 10 ml of inhalation fluid is used significantly faster with the ME120.

Inhalation of Api-inhal is also recommended for excessive or regular contact with chemicals, dust or other aggressive foreign bodies that irritate the respiratory mucosa.
Is Api-inhal suitable for babies?
Babies can inhale from birth, but it is a good idea to start with saline. From 1 year onwards, they can also inhale Api-inhal.

What else can be inhaled in aerosol inhaler therapy besides Api inhalation mixtures?
Inhalation is not possible without the medicinal fluid. Inhaler technology turns the liquid into an aerosol that is inhaled to pass into all airways. This medicinal liquid, which is injected into the inhaler, can be:
– medicine (medically prescribed)
– saline
– colloidal silver
What is the shelf life of Api-inhal after opening?
Once you open the bottle, be sure to refrigerate it and use it within 10 days. This is because this product has no preservatives to prolong its shelf life and shelf life. We have chosen to go natural because we do not want our product to put any strain on the respiratory system with synthetic ingredients. At the expense of this, the product has a shorter shelf life as a result.
What should I do with my bottle of Api-inhal if I don’t use it in 10 days?
Discard the contents and do not inhale the liquid. To avoid this, from the moment the bottle is opened, all members of the family should inhale regularly and do a respiratory mucosal strengthening treatment. The mucous membranes of the respiratory tract are severely affected by heating in winter and are more susceptible to viral and bacterial infections.
Even if your child’s cold symptoms have disappeared, continue inhaling for at least 3 more days to give the mucous membranes a chance to strengthen and moisten. Children have a shorter airway, which means that viruses and bacteria can enter much more quickly, especially if the mucous membranes are dry (an ideal environment for micro-organisms to grow!).

Can I use Api inhalation mixtures with all inhalers?
Yes, the Api-inhaler is designed to be safe for use with all inhaler types and manufacturers, as it does not contain essential oils or other aggressive ingredients that would harm the inhaler (e.g. melt plastic).
There are 3 different types of Api-inhaler, how do you choose the right one?
There are 3 types to choose from:
– for the upper airways: relieves symptoms of inflammation of the nasal passages, sinuses, throat and larynx
– for the lower airways: supports the regeneration of the deeper airways (when the lungs, bronchi/alveoli, trachea are affected)
– for flu and colds: boosts immunity and relieves flu symptoms.
The Api upper respiratory inhaler is used for the following symptoms: runny nose, stuffy nose, sore or inflamed throat, scratchy throat, (dry) cough, sinus inflammation, swollen and red tonsils, hoarseness or loss of voice.
The Api-inhaler for the lower airway is used for the following symptoms: coughing up mucus, wheezing, chest pain when breathing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing.
When you don’t know which type of respiratory infection you have, you can choose the most general and universal one, i.e. flu and colds. However, you can’t do any harm by using any of them, as the base for all three is the same strong saline solution, only the herbs are slightly different.
For those looking for a complete respiratory care solution, the Dihalko Package is available. The package includes all three Api-inhaler mixtures, tailored to different needs.

Can I overdose on Api-inhalation mixtures?
No, because it is not a synthetic preparation, but a completely natural solution with no side effects.
When to inhale saline and when to inhale Api-inhal?
Inhaling Api-inhal is more effective than saline. While saline is a very basic preparation, Api-inhal is an enriched and more highly concentrated inhalation mixture, which also has extracts of at least 5 medicinal herbs added. Api-inhal therefore speeds up recovery by moisturising, nourishing and regenerating the airways and mucous membranes.
Is there anything else on the market similar to Api-inhal that I could use?
There is nothing else besides saline. There are drops for inhaling essential oils, but these are not suitable for use in an inhaler. They are too aggressive for the respiratory tract, as well as for the inhaler, and damage it.
How long can I inhale with Api-inhal as a preventive measure? Can I do it throughout the cold season?
Yes, you can inhale throughout the whole virosis season, even for several months. Api-inhal is not a medicine but a saline solution with herbs, so it is not too aggressive and can be inhaled over a longer period of time. If you inhale for 10 days at a time, take a 3-5 day break. However, if you do not inhale every day, no break is necessary.
